Each year, Harrison Contracting Co. brings the team together for a day of safety training and certification. This year, we had over 150 in attendance with a variety of volunteer instructors and vendor partners to help us keep our teams safe and up to date with the latest in equipment, PPE, fire safety, and safe driving.
A main focus for HCC has been the zero tolerance policy for employee distracted driving. We were lucky enough to have Sgt. Hunter Ethredge from our Local Villa Rica Police Department, take time out to share his experience, knowledge, and advice to keep our team as safe as possible on the roads. Our crews and field supervisors travel more than 1 million miles a year and we want to make sure that each of those miles are driven safely. We wanted to say thank you to Sgt. Ethredge and the Villa Rica Police Department for their time and continued support.
Carroll County Fire also came out to teach our office and field training in the proper operation of extinguishers and fire safety in general. Being in the paint industry, we are surrounded by flammable materials and it is critical that our team know exactly what to do in the case of a fire. Team members received hands on experience putting out a test fire (safely controlled by CCFD). Fire Fighter Daniel Norton also took the time to properly train our team on basic first aid. He covered a variety of subjects from burns and cuts to ice packs and proper wound dressing. We sincerely appreciate the entire team from Carroll County Fire for their continued support in the safety training program.
We would also like to thank our vendor partners Sherwin Williams, PPG, Sunbelt Rental Company and Graco. They all took time out of their busy schedules to support our efforts in having the best trained guys in the painting industry.
